I build the interactive scaffolding that lets designers and generative AI hand intent back and forth — without losing what made it the designer's in the first place.
— capturing a designer's intent, decomposing the design into operable parts, structuring the relations between them, and generating outputs that hand the reasoning back to the designer to steer the next move.
Capturing Designer Intent
Two routes — the explicit (direct manipulation, semantic tags) and the implicit (accumulated behaviors, gaze, dwell). Both feed a shared internal representation.
Operable Decomposition
Breaking a design into parts a designer can actually grab — across text, 2D image, 3D shape, and multimodal channels. Semantic and structural decomposition working in tandem.
Structuring Element Relations
A relational graph of design elements that evolves turn by turn — chair → frame → wood → sustainable → bamboo — building a map that the designer can re-enter later.
Generation & Interaction
Closing the loop. Outputs that expose property edges ("is-style-of", "has-property") so designers can reach into the model's reasoning and steer the next iteration.

Hi, I'm Jiin.
I design at the seam where designers and AI meet.
I'm a Ph.D. & M.S. integrated student at Hanyang University, working with Kyung Hoon Hyun in the Design AI Lab.
My research builds interactive methods that turn the messy, scattered intuitions of designers into navigable cognitive spaces — helping people steer generative AI without losing their own creative voice.
